ABOUT : Skopopelli Petroglyphs depicting Kokopelli, the flute player are found throughout the southwestern United States. This motif predates most of the modern tribes in the region and appears to depict a traveller who brings luck, fertility or trickery to the villages he visits. We updated this prototypical southwestern figure to emphasize the southwestern locale of the 2005 Weinstein Cardiovascular Development Conference. The 2005 version is a revision of the motif we used in 1999 and within our home department of Cell Biology and Anatomy at the University of Arizona. Skopopelli is a direct descendent of Kokopelli and that's the story we're sticking to. |
